Some character bios, if you will.

Main Characters

Sumaya al-Ghazi

Sumaya Al-Ghazi, our 22 year old protagonist, trained in spellcrafting and graduated recently but did not expect to be working in a boutique printing press crafting spells in order to solve crimes…

Willard Engelmann

Willard is quite shy and fairly handsome, in a quiet, bookish kind of way. He’s older than he looks, and has quite a biting sense of humour- when he is comfortable enough to show it.

Paulsen Claes

Paulsen Claes- Paul to everyone he knows, is a 2nd generation Belgian Australian who’s a bit louder, a bit less co-ordinated and a bit more computer-oriented than you’d guess from a master spellcraft (and detective). Open, friendly and disheveled on the surface, there is more to Paulsen than meets the eye.

Clients

Madame de Pompadour

Madame de Pompadour is all show and finery in her black lace, hats and gloves. She certainly is a dramatic figure and a rather voluptuous and, shall we say, libidinous one. She is, however, not to be underestimated.
She is looking for whoever stole the silver platter given to her by her ex-husband, Lord Vo.

Lord Charles Magnus Vo

True to his name Lord Vo is a large, officious individual and the Grand Postmaster. He has many a custom order that goes through the printmakers’. He is also the ex-husband of Madame de Pompadour, and is now seeing a lady known as “that rabbit woman”.

Suspects

The Rabbit Woman

Could she have stolen the silver platter with the moon face on it?

Others

Count Xavier of East Melbourne

Count Xavier is one of the most powerful nobles in the City of Melbourne, ruling the most prosperous and well-to-do suburb, the small area of East Melbourne. He has a wife as well as several consorts- the main one being Madame de Pompadour.,
